About Us

Monica Herrick, MEd, and Meredith Moates, PhD, are the founders of Transitions Foundation-NC for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). As former teachers in the public school system, we had concerns about outcomes for students with autism because of a lack of post-secondary educational support in the community and employment. We provide post-secondary support through vocational education and training to students with autism. We hope to build partnerships with businesses for internships. Our goal is to teach the necessary skills at the post-secondary level, and customize education that can generalize into employment to give students with autism meaningful careers.
